Do you believe in Vastu?

I know a lot of people who belive in Vastu and I also have a lot of friends who do not trust the principals of Vastu but at http://www.gharexpert.com/ our aim is present each side of the story with details and let our esteem readers make their decision on their own.

Like always, here are my two cents. We all know that our body is made up of chemicals and stuff our behavior and the general well being is closely controlled by how these chemicals stay in shape and Vastu principals provide very good advice as to how we can use the power of nature in an over all well being of our life. But like all other old theories the Vastu sciene is one thing and its interpretations are quite another so if you like, read the theory and develop your own interpretation. Right :)

Closely knit Interior decoration community

Today we launched the all new 2008 GharExpert.com website. Sounds like a car launch does it :) I was soooooo dying to make this announcement that I opened this blog as soon as I finished my last review of the website.

The first change is a new section by the name “Fresh at Ghar Expert”. This section summarizes and highlights all activities happening on the website. It is kind of interesting, as it is an attempt to merge the editor controlled contents along with the community driven contents on the same space. It also makes things interesting as individual opinions of users are delivered fresh, unadulterated, untouched to the community. Of course our editors team reviews almost every thing to make sure that the contents are appropriate but that is done in the spirit of keeping the content clean so that every one can enjoy it. So now if you have your whole Ghar to decorate or just a small room, logon to GharExpert.com and let the experts from the Ghar Expert team help you design your dream home.

Interior Decoration website or a magazine?

What would you prefer; an interior decoration website, an interior decoration magazine or both. Well before I start the topic I have a confession to make.

www.GharExpert.com does not have a paper publication for interior decoration so my comments would be biased for the website :) but I would like you guys to take whichever side you want.

Magazines, especially the interior decoration ones, are really glossy which is cool
Magazines are handy, you can take them anywhere. This is better for Indian conditions as you have to take the concept to the work site to get things implemented.
Websites are interactive, you can interact with the website organizers and communicate with other community members. I like this one the most as we will be launching cool community features on Ghar Expert website shortly.
Websites can have unlimited contents. Theoretically you can find pretty much every thing on a website well done. In case of a magazine you can get only a couple of months issue and then you have no idea what was there in the magazine before.
Websites can have multimedia contents that make things interesting for readers.
Websites can not go to the site, unless of course with a laptop and a wireless internet connection and websites are not glossy... Food for thought for the GharExpert team.

I know the moment I make this announcement, users will be like, hmm.. why another blog, when you have a blog at Blogspot. So here are the reasons why we added a separate blog.

www.GharExpert.Blogspot.com is the team blog exclusively for the Ghar Expert team members who would share the background story about the GharExpert development. This will be more technical blog to satisfy the blogging appetite of our geeky resources including me :)

Ideas, Ideas, everywhere

Since last couple of days we have been discussing whether we should launch a "Ghar Expert Wallpaper" series but then we were wondering how our wall papers would give more than a normal wall paper available on sites.

So after some brainstorming; yeah that's what we call to the process of hanging around with a cup of coffee & chatting :) ; we decided that putting new year calendar on the wall paper would be a better idea. I know Vista has better stuff than that but not every one has Vista so I think it will be fun to have some thing this on the wall paper of my computer. Cool Interiors, exteriors pictures with a touch of time management.. Let's see if you guys like it. I'll post it here as soon as it is available..

GharExpert.com; What does Ghar mean anyway?

Ghar is a Hindi word that means "Home" so the website www.GharExpert.com relates to every thing related to home.

I thought I would use this channel to describe the meaning of "Ghar" to our international audience who do not have exposure to the Hindi language.

Even though the articles at GharExpert.com are referred to an Indian audience still the discussion about the spaces, their arrangements, and interior decoration techniques have global touch to them.

Any Architect here!

Surprisingly, a number of home-owners in India use architect's services just as a rubber stamp to get the required approval! People some times call architects, ask them to build a couple of sample plans and then send them a message that they don't like the plan and later use those plans anyway.

Welcome back to GharExpert.com:)

Welcome; I don't know the box office fate of the movie "Welcome" but it has a very interesting name and theme song. A lot of channels have been playing the song since morning, giving the movie some free publicity, a dream every business venture has :) I know it's not relevant for this post but hey this is a blog :)
